It's been quite a year!
The year started out with an invitation from the Napa County Library to submit my artwork for consideration for an exhibit. I submitted samples of my pencil drawings and in May my art was selected. It was good I was able to schedule the exhibit for October because I had lots of drawings to do and with lots of other activities going on this year, I did most of them in September.
Early in the year, I came up with designing and painting a mural for our local dog club. The mural went on a 92 foot long wall. This project took a few months to complete, a big project that would have taken much longer if I did not have two talented artists from the dog club to help!
In July, I organized an open house for the dog club to showcase the mural and also to let the community know about training classes and activities offered by the club.
Then there were dog shows for Brooklyn and I to attend. We went to eight different venues from March to November. In November, Brooklyn received her championship!
July was the annual Gray PEAR Affair hosted by my Mom in Bellingham. This was a very special family reunion as we also celebrated my Mom turning 90 this year! (Her actual birthday was September 30th.)
Also in July, Robert, Kathy, Aubrey, and Sierra went on a backpacking adventure in the High Sierra (Yosemite). They hiked a total of 30 miles over three days!
Then Robert and I headed to Philadelphia for a week in August to attend a genealogy conference put on by the Austin Families Association of America and to visit historical sights.
In September Tim, Kathy, Rylan, Aubrey, Sierra, and their Rottweiler, Axel, moved to Oregon! We miss them a lot!
Turns out we have been seeing a lot of them though. Kathy and the girls came down for my art exhibit reception in October. Then, in early November, Kathy came down for business and to spend the weekend. In November, we headed to Oregon for Thanksgiving. Next visit with all of them is Christmas at our house.
