The Wales countryside we enjoyed from inside the bus was a different look and feel than what we have seen so far—lots of rolling farmland bordered by low bushes. There were very few "actual" trees. Again we saw rich shades of green everywhere expanding through and about picturesque farm houses and old market towns. The weather was pretty much the same as yesterday, partly cloudy with a high in the low sixties, just cool enough to appreciate having brought a sweater. Happily, there was no rain today. St. David's Cathedral, our featured destination, located in a cute village of the same name, was quite impressive. After exploring the church itself, Dorothy and Jean headed for the shops back up the hill above the cathedral. Robert and I decided to explore the extensive ruins of the Bishops Palace behind the cathedral. Robert would have enjoyed spending the entire day in the ruins exploring the numerous tunnels and passage ways if he had his way! For the first time on this trip we ran across signs of a language other than English. Shop and directional signs were all written in both Welsh and English. In Wales, many people speak the Welsh language which is directly descended from the language of the Sixth Century and is one of Europe's oldest living languages. After tonight's show, featuring Comedian Adrian Walsh, we joined the second trivia meet of the day and once more lost. By one point! Again! Tomorrow morning we will be in Dunmore East, Ireland.
