Early this morning around 4 or 5,
the ship stopped rolling and tossing. We woke to a milder day
than yesterday albeit cloudy.
Our day in port started with the four of us climbing
into a tender to get ashore. That was exciting; stepping gingerly
from the ship into a bouncing boat as the tender competed with
the ship for even ground.
The key interests of our bus ride around the
25 sqaure mile island of Guernsey were the narrow streets and
roads (is this typical of Europe?), the nine window houses, possibly
the world's smallest church decorated in shells and pottery pieces,
the lush green landscape of
