However, for the most part, the flight was good, no major bumps or surprises along the way. I was amazed how far technology has come since the last time we flew. And, it has been quite awhile! When we boarded the plane I saw little 6 to 7 inch monitors on the back of every single seat. Everyone had their own personal viewing set up which included movies, TV shows, sports events and playing games! No extra cost! There was quite a variety in choice for movies too. The future is here I said to myself. However we soon found out the monitors are very hard to view because of the limited angle adjustment which is made worse when people push their seats into recline. We had to scrunch way down into our seats to see an image poor quality. We certainly had good food service on the plane. We were served dinner right after taking off then breakfast a couple of hours before landing in Amsterdam. Plus, every time we began to get just a little bit thirsty along came drinks—five or six times! We were even given wet hot towelettes a couple of times! We were on board our cruise ship by two o'clock. "We'll not be losing our way on this ship," Robert announced as we walked from our cabin to the main eat-till-you-drop food spot to enjoy an afternoon ice cream. This ship, the Prinsendam, holds 800 passengers. The ship we took on our Alaskan cruise a year ago held 2500 passengers. Thus, the first leg of our cruise is underway. We left port mid to late afternoon. Tomorrow we dock in Dover then bus two hours to see London. |
